Amazon.com Celestron’s computerized NexStar 130 SLT adds affordable "Go-To" technology to a compact Newtonian reflector telescope. By using mirrors instead of lenses, the Newtonian optics of the NexStar 130 SLT produce an image nearly five times brighter than the NexStar 60 SLT refractor telescope. The package includes everything except the batteries, and features easy no-tool setup, two good eyepieces, and even includes a student version of "The Sky" planetarium software.

The Newtonian design of the NexStar 130 SLT is optimized to produce bright images over a wide field of view. When I use an optional 32mm Plossl eyepiece, the famous Double Cluster in Perseus looks like a display of celestial fireworks with streamers of stars trailing across the 2 degree field of view. The standard equipment 25mm eyepiece magnifies the image about 26 times, with a wide field of view just right for viewing deep space objects like star clusters or the Orion Nebula.

The included 9mm eyepiece (72x magnification) offers great views of the Lunar disk and globular star clusters like M13. And when I add a 2x Barlow lens to the 9mm eyepiece for a total magnification of 144x, I can easily see cloud bands on the planet Jupiter and pick up detail in Saturn’s rings.

The NexStar 130 SLT also features Celestron’s patented SkyAlign technology. With SkyAlign I don't need a star chart or a compass to align the telescope, I just enter the date and time then point the telescope at three bright stars. SkyAlign tells me the star names, and allows the telescope to find over 4,000 stars, planets, and galaxies by just pushing a button. The accurate tracking makes it easy to get high power views of the planets, and allowed me to take some great pictures using a Celestron NexImage webcam. I also like the "Two-Star align" and "Solar System align" modes because I can often get the NexStar system up and running while older scopes are still waiting for their alignment stars to appear in he twilight.

Reflector telescopes offer more light gathering power per dollar than any other design, but that value is balanced by the fact that the mirrors may need to be aligned or "collimated" occasionally. Using Celestron’s Collimation Eyepiece

I had no trouble fine tuning the optical alignment, and I was rewarded with sharp views of Lunar craters even when I pushed the magnification up to the theoretical limit of 300x. The other drawback of a computerized telescope, of course, is battery consumption. Superb Northern Summer Deep Sky Objects Move in From the East!

The year moves on, and so does the night sky. In the Northern Hemisphere, summer's deep sky objects start to make an appearance in the late evenings -- favourite tantalizing stars such as Vega in Lyra and Arcturus in Boötes make a return from the east, and with them some remarkable Messier deep sky objects. A merge of hours' observing in late April revealed some real stunners, along with M13, and M92. Much lower down, I should have been able to see M3 in the constellation Canes Venatici, and M57 (the Ring Nebula) in the constellation of Lyra, but pretty bad light pollution from local business towards my eastern horizon severely restricts observing low down deep sky objects with low exterior brightness, such as planetary nebulae, galaxies and star clusters.

I all the time tend to use a 26mm or 20mm eyepiece initially when viewing deep sky objects, following successfully lining them up in my finderscope. Sometimes, as in the case of M81 (Bode's Nebula) and M82 (the Cigar Galaxy) in Ursa Major, the smaller eyepiece and wider angular field of view allows for some tantalizing framings of deep sky objects together. When it is time for closer inspection, I increase the magnification with my x2 Celestron Barlow lens. In my location, with moderate light pollution and no filter, most deep sky objects, being so faint, of course don't bear greater magnification with a 200mm cleft reflector, except of course, tantalizing star clusters and objects such as M42, the Orion Nebula.

Telescope

So what my bagging of these two superb globular clusters, both of which looked remarkable at x80 magnification? Both are globular clusters. M92 alternatively known as Ngc 6341 was discovered in 1777 by Johann Elert Bode, and has an apparent magnitude of +6.4 making it one of the more conspicuous globular clusters. Charles Messier independently rediscovered it and catalogued it on March 18, 1781. It lies 26,700 light years distant in our galaxy's halo, like M13 in the constellation of Hercules.

M92 is descriptive to the naked eye under very good conditions and a showpiece through whether a telescope or binoculars. It has a mass of almost 330,000 suns, and has an angular size of 14 arc minutes, astonishingly it is windup in on the central regions of the Milky Way at a staggeringt 112 km/sec!

So much or M92, what about the superb 'Great globular heap in Hercules', otherwise known as M13 or Ngc6205? It's at a similar distance of about 25,100 light years, has an apparent magnitude of +5.8, and has an angular size of 20 arc minutes. It was discovered by Edmond Halley in 1714, and is one of the best known globulars in the of the Northern celestial hemisphere. M13 contains any 100,000 stars, and in 1974 was a target for one of the first radio messages addressed to possible extra-terrestrial tantalizing races, sent by the large radio telescope at Arecibo.

Both M13 and M92 are gems in the northern night sky, and summer's the time to start making the most of them!

What Do Genital Warts Look Like - Recognizing The Signs

If you don't know what genital warts look like, it's hard to determine if you've got them. Usually, they look small, pink or white bumps. They may look like the warts you find on your finger, or they may be much smaller. Some are so small that you can't see them individually, but see only a group of them as a cluster.

Even a good doctor may have problem seeing genital warts because of their size. It's also hard to distinguish genital warts from normal bumps, abrasions or pinched skin. One way that physicians can check is by putting acetic acid on the area. When this happens, the warts will turn white. Doctors also use a colposcope, a lens that works like a telescope, to see the area more clearly. These are two methods used to determine if the bumps are genital warts.

About half of all habitancy with Hpv, the virus that causes warts, never have any wart outbreaks. Sometimes the warts look very un-wart-like; they may just be a slightly raised portion of the skin. They come in all sizes, and may appear either alone or in groups.

Warts found around the penis are often smooth on top, but those that are found around the anus are often rough, with projections that come off like fingers. Most warts have a pearly but slightly dark look, and the shapes look cauliflower. Usually, genital warts stand well off the skin, but occasionally they may be elevated only a puny bit. It may be hard to see warts in the genital area because they might be hiding under pubic hair.

For women, genital warts look pretty much the same as those that men get. They are found around the vagina, where there is a lot of moisture. If there are genital warts on the outside, you should see a doctor so that they can see if there are more inside the vagina, cervix or anorectal areas. In women, some types of this virus can lead to serious condition problems such as cervical cancer, so genital warts should be examined and treated immediately by a doctor.

The first step in identifying and treating Hpv is to know what genital warts look like. This way, you will know if you may have the virus. If you find anything you calculate might be genital warts, talk to your doctor immediately. They may be genital warts, or it may be a false alarm. It's prominent to know right away.

History of the Television's Creation

Television is a box where we can view images and get to listen to different sounds. Approximately every house in the world today has a television or two. It is one of the most efficient means of entertainment and communication. Many population wonder about the talk to the question, when was the first television made.

They also created a scanning law so it can furnish the same pictures again. Then in 1923, Vladimir Zworykin patented the first electronic eye for the television. In 1927, Farnsworth patented the "image dissector". In 1928, the license for a first ever middle point for the television was issued to Charles Jenkins.

Celestron’s AstroMaster 70 EQ combines the solid optical performance of a classic achromatic refractor with a German style equatorial mount. The Astromaster 70 features easy no-tool setup and much better optics than 60mm beginner scopes. The Astromaster package includes high and low power eyepieces, a correct image diagonal prism, illustrated instructions, and planetarium software for your PC.

The AstroMaster 70 EQ features very good optical performance. Achromatic refractors have a two piece objective lens, the second lens element compensates for “chromatic aberration”, the false color or blue fringes seen in low cost telescopes. In daylight tests I see very little blue fringing with the standard equipment 10mm eyepiece (90X magnification), and none at all with the 20mm eyepiece (45X). Stars and planets show up very nicely with the AstroMaster 70. The bright double star Castor, one of the “twins” in the constellation Gemini, is cleanly split at 90X with the 10mm eyepiece. When I tried an optional 6mm Plossl eyepiece for a magnification of 150X, I was treated to lovely views of Saturn’s rings and the little orange disk of Mars. My view of the Moon was delightfully crisp and clear; the 20mm eyepiece nicely frames the Lunar disk, and using the 10mm eyepiece I could easily see mountain peaks and terraced walls inside the crater Copernicus.

The AstroMaster 70 EQ also features a newly designed tripod with 1.25 inch stainless steel legs. This new tripod holds the telescope firmly; I had no trouble focusing even with a high power eyepiece. The equatorial mount is a little more complicated to balance and align than the AstroMaster 70 AZ , but the reward is better slow motion control and tracking at magnifications over 100X. Simply point the equatorial axis at Polaris, the North Star, and the telescope tracks celestial objects by turning one slow motion knob. This makes it much easier to use a high power eyepiece while viewing the Moon and Planets. The “star pointer” finder scope works by shining a red LED on a plastic window; just look through the window and line up the red spot with your target. This works OK for bright objects like the Moon and planets but not so well for finding galaxies and deep space objects.

The AstroMaster 70 EQ is a very good entry level telescope for a student or family. The good quality 70mm optics produce an image that is significantly sharper and brighter than 60mm beginner scopes, and the AstroMaster 70 EQ includes a solid mount, two good eyepieces, and fully illustrated instructions. --Jeff Phillips

The True Christmas Story - It's Worth Telling

The secular world is always attacking Christmas. Oh, how the cheaper would suffer if we ever Stopped celebrating this holiday! There's no denying that there are many who would prefer that Christ had nothing to do with Christmas.

Before we Christians get our lederhosen in a twist in defense of our popular holiday, let's think a few things about this celebration of "the night of our dear Savior's birth." We may be surprised to find that Christ - and many Christian traditions - had small to do with Christmas as we know it.

I'M Not Being A Grinch But...

When it comes to Christmas Pageants and Nativity scenes, let's write back how erroneous they are. Invariably, they concentrate the visit of the Shepherds (found in Luke’s Gospel) with the visit of the Magi (from Matthew’s Gospel) into one harmonized birthday celebration.

See, in Luke’s Gospel, the inventory goes something like this: Shepherd’s are in the field and an angel appears to them and directs them to visit Bethlehem where the baby has been born (Luke 2). Verse 16 declares, " So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger." Let's not overlook that point: a Baby in the manger. The Greek word used there means clearly refers to a newborn baby. Nowhere does Luke mentions “wise men” or “magi."

Then, as we inspect Matthew, we read nothing about shepherds or a manger. Here’s how Matthew tells his story (Chapter 2): “Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, etc." After Jesus was born, these Magi showed up in Jerusalem and asked where a king would be born in this particular kingdom. They are told, in Bethlehem. So, off they go. The story picks up in verse 11: “After advent into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, chance their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Did you catch that? When the Magi arrive, they enter a House and find, not an baby - as in Luke - but a toddler, older than an infant, agreeing to the Greek definition.

These facts demonstrate two things for us:

1) The Shepherds arrived immediately after Jesus’ birth and visited him while he was still in the manger.

2) The Magi arrived about two years later and visited the toddler in his parent's house in Bethlehem.

Matthew and Luke are telling two distinct stories that we have somehow attempted to blend together. The birth accounts need Not be combined because they enumerate distinct phases in the childhood of Jesus. The fact that Herod killed all Bethlehem boys age 2 and under could be evidence that Jesus was about that age.

Hence, when Christmas Pageants and Nativity Scenes contain both Shepherds and Wise Men, they do so against Biblical testimony and contrary to the Gospels themselves. In short, they telescope two separate, safe bet events into one. Does this mean such pageants are evil? No, but it does mean they are inaccurate.

The Meaningful Gifts Of The Magi

The gifts were given to the baby Jesus by the Three Wise Men (Magi) from the East. Were there certainly three? Probably not but there were at least two. Let's look at what those gifts were and what they represent. The three gifts we read of in Matthew 2 are a Big part of the Gospel story for they are symbolic of the intuit that Jesus was born in a human body; they are an expression of His ministry on earth.

Matthew 2:10-11 "...After advent into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him... They presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh."

First, the Gold is telling of His royalty, that He is the true King of kings.

Second, the Frankincense tells of His true intuit for leaving the glory of Heaven and becoming man...His priesthood. We read in Hebrews 2:17 that He became like us that He might be our "faithful high clergyman in things pertaining to God."

And, third, the Myrrh represents His death on the cross "to make propitiation for the sins of the people" (Hebrews 2:17).

After Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple of Jesus, had been granted the right to take off Jesus from the cross and lay Him in the tomb built for Joseph himself; Nicodemus came, bringing embalming materials, to help with the burial of Jesus. We are told in John 19:39: "Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came, bringing a combination of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds weight." Myrrh was used as an embalming ointment. Myrrh was also an incense frequently used in perfumes. You will recall, in John 12:1-7, that Mary, sister of Lazarus, took a jar of precious perfume of pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus. When Judas Iscariot chastised her for this, Jesus told him, ". . . Let her alone, in order that she may keep it for the joy of My burial."

In the Old Testament, nard is referred to in the Song of Songs, as a seal of the intimate nature of the Bride’s love. This is the point at which relations with her popular are initiated. When the perfume of nard is named, the bride recognizes her popular as such.
With that in mind, we see that Mary was representing what All Christians have been down straight through the ages, i.e., the Bride of Christ, recognizing, worshipping, and adoring the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.
So, we see the Gold representing His royalty; the Frankincense representing His priesthood; and the Myrrh representing His death. That is the true meaning of gifts at Christmas as they tell the story of the Gospel of Jesus Christ all by themselves. If you want to certainly give your family, especially your children and grandchildren, the very best gift inherent for Christmas, share with them the story of Jesus' birth and why He came to earth, as the Mediator in the middle of God and man.

Don't go broke buying gifts. Instead, give your house the most precious gift, Jesus Christ.

I know that many will say that Christmas is not certainly the true time of Jesus' birth. That's true, for no one certainly knows the true date of His birth. We Do know that Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem for the census decreed by Caesar Augustus, that all must go to their own city to be registered and counted. Now, since the Roman government heavily taxed the Jews, they would certainly have waited until After the fall harvest to call them to leave their fields Otherwise, the harvest to be taxed would be smaller. The Romans wanted more bang for their buck, one might say.

Also, I've read that it was most likely the early Fall when the shepherds were still in the fields with their flocks. In December, it would be too cold for them to have their sheep in the fields.

It is also true that December 25th was chosen because it was a pagan holiday, Saturnalia, a Roman festival and holiday, and it has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus. Put yourself in the place of the Christians during that time. They were finding all the revelry of the Roman Saturnalia festival; they were finding many of their friends and house being lured toward the good times of that festival. What could they do? Just as today many Christians offer Halloween "alternative parties" for their children to keep them from the pagan rituals of Halloween, the Christians in that day decided to celebrate an alternative to Saturnalia. What great thing to celebrate than the birth of Jesus Christ? The natural thing to do was to give the Christians a holy event to celebrate while their neighbors were busy celebrating their pagan holiday. That is why we celebrate December 25th as the birth of Jesus Christ.

If you think about it, we should be celebrating His birth every day for there is no greater gift than that free gift given to us by God, the birth of His Son who came to be our be our King of kings, to be our High Priest, and, to die in our place, that we might have an chance to be born again, free from sin.

I am starting my astronomy classes and part of the things needed for an astronomy class is a telescope. Actually, my trainer is not production it compulsory for us to own one, but I verily would like to have the best and first class touch when there is a need for us to study a singular planet or any other celestial object for that matter. I tried asking my friends what would be the best telescope for a starter like me. I also included in my inquiries that the telescope must also be able to give the best touch I like to have I even had to recognize reviews in the internet because I want to buy a telescope that only gives me the capability I deserve but having it for a reasonable price would be an added bonus.

Most of the answers I got included from my friends and from the internet were that I should buy a "go-to" or "none go-to scope". The go-to scopes means that the telescope is computerized and you can just enter the planet or any other celestial object into its system and it locates it for you. The "none go-to" telescopes are the other way around, meaning you have to look for the planet or celestial object manually.

For beginners like me, I immediately searched the internet for the best beginner scope and I found out that the Celestron Nexstar 130 is perfect candidate for me. From Celestron Nexstar 130 Slt reviews I have found out that it has phenomenal features for a low price. I also find its build to be very eye-catching.
I am not disappointed when I bought my own Celestron Nexstar 130 because it has aided me in giving a very detailed report of every assignment given by my professor.

7. With a touch of a button, I can open an object inventory and convert the slew speed. 8. I can join together it to my computer using NexRemote telescope control software, and the software in the telescope is upgradeable.

10. The best part is that, it has a Computerized Altazimuth mount which allows you verily locate colse to 4,000 celestial objects which includes galaxies and stars!

On the other hand, as much as I like its numerous pros in performance, it has cons too; Examples of which are its battery and sensitivity. The telescope's battery has a short life span, thus you have to constantly buy batteries every time you use it. Also, it is very sensitive to vibration.

The Celestron Nexstar 130 telescope is also good for family use. My family tried it once. We went camping one vacation and I was able to bring my telescope with me because it is also portable. My dad and mum were even impressed by the sharp images they were able to see and the ease of use of the telescope when we were star gazing that night.

So, for those citizen starting out in astronomy and finding for a telescope to begin their large journey, I recommend you buy the Celestron Nexstar 130 telescope.

Celestron 21041 60mm PowerSeeker Telescope Celestron's value priced Powerseeker 60 telescope takes a basic "just the facts" approach to affordable entry level telescopes. The package includes an adjustable aluminum tripod with an alt-azimuth mount and stabilizer, a Kellner type K20 eyepiece, a Ramsden type SR4 eyepiece, a 3x barlow lens, and a 5 power cross-hair finder scope.

The Powerseeker 60 comes disassembled in a compact box, but it won't take long to put everything together. Go ahead and try it out in the daytime, that's the best time to align the finder scope while looking at a distant tree or telephone pole.

My first view of Saturn's rings and star cluster M13 in Hercules came with a 60mm telescope, and I enjoy celestial viewing with the Powerseeker 60 to this day. The secret is to use the low power K20 eyepiece and only extend the tripod legs half-way. This gives me sharp and steady views, whether I'm looking at nearby hills, craters on the Moon, the Double Cluster in Perseus, or even the Andromeda Galaxy!

With a 1.25" focuser and diagonal mirror, it's easy to add better eyepieces. The Kellner type K20 eyepiece yields a 1.1 degree true field of view, better than the Huygens or H-type eyepieces still found in many beginner scopes. Adding an optional Celestron 25mm E-Lux eyepiece is better still. With nearly 2 degrees true field of view, the 25mm E-lux makes it much easier to find objects, either on land or in deep space. The SR4 eyepiece is less impressive; it's like peeking through a pin-hole. Adding the 3x barlow to the SR4 to get that 525x proclaimed on the box is peeking through a dim, fuzzy pin-hole.

I'm surprised that a telescope this inexpensive can be this good. It's good enough to show me Saturn's rings at night or a Steller's Jay at 100 yards during the day. In my opinion, the Powerseeker 60 would be an even better bargain if it came with a K10 eyepiece in place of the 3x barlow and the SR4 eyepiece. Also take a look at Celestron's Firstscope 60AZ; it's only a little more expensive, but it includes two useable eyepieces, a red-dot finder, and planetarium software for your computer. –Jeff Phillips

The SkyMasters include multicoated optics and BaK-4 internal prisms, two features that promise brighter, better images, and key points to look for when judging a pair of binoculars. They also come with an adapter for attaching them to a photo tripod, which is a must to use them to their fullest, and a soft carrying case. But just because they are cheap doesn't always mean they are worth the price. Would it be better to save up for a more expensive pair?

To find the answer, I had an opportunity recently to judge the SkyMasters against a pair of Fujinon 16x70 FMT-SX binoculars , one of the finest pairs of giant binoculars sold today. Like the SkyMasters, the Fujinons feature BaK-4 prisms, but also have fully multicoated optics. As a general rule, superior coatings mean superior image sharpness and contrast. But then, that should be expected, given that the Fujinons cost many times more than the Celestrons.

While the Fujinons were clearly the better performer, the Celestron SkyMasters held up admirably. Image brightness, quality, and contrast were all remarkable considering their bargain price. Although images were a little soft across the outer 25% of the Celestron's field, the overall view was impressive nonetheless.

Some inexpensive binoculars have very sloppy focusing, causing the eyepieces to tilt and shift. Not so with the SkyMasters. I found that their center-focusing mechanism worked smoothly, with no apparently backlash or wobble. Eye relief (the distance you hold your eyes away from the eyepieces to see the full field) is stated to be 18 mm, a good distance for higher power binoculars and an important consideration if you must wear glasses when viewing. The SkyMasters are also light enough to support by hand for short periods of time, although buyers would be well advised to mount them on a sturdy photo tripod.

The bottom line is, if you are considering a pair of giant binoculars, whether for bird watching, stargazing, or another recreational use, and have a limited budget, Celestron's giant 15x70 SkyMasters represent an excellent value. --Phil Harrington, author of Star Ware and Star Watch
