Astronomy for Children - Teaching Children straight through Astronomy

Astronomy is possibly the best science for teaching children. Astronomy-themed studying projects can help teach children not only astronomy but many subjects--reading, writing, math, history, geometry, chemistry, art, photography, etc. almost any area of knowledge can be integrated into a children's astronomy class or workshop. Children are not only studying the provocative field of astronomy that has engaged children of all ages for centuries--the solar system, the planets, the stars, the nebula, the comets, the galaxies, the spaceships and space marvels, the telescopes--but astronomy can be the coordinating art and science.

There are many children's astronomy websites online and also books that include experimental projects, data study projects, telescope projects (including "make your own telescope"). Astronomy can also teach children how to think and analyze. Writing can be taught via keeping astronomy journals.

Children can be encouraged to design their own posters and art prints, their own "astrographics." Astronomy books and software may be found at Amazon.com and The Astronomy Store, http://www.astronomystore.zoomshare.com. There are also telescope market that have novice telescopes for young astronomers.

As for astronomy software, there are a wide range of astronomy software which can be educational. Some of this software is especially designed for children, such as Sesame road Ernie's Adventures in Space and Zoom Astronomy--Enchanted studying Software. Astronomy news can also be found online.

Dover Publisher sells solar ideas stickers, sun, moon, and stars stickers and easy to do experiments, along with "science for children" coloring books. Again, children can be encouraged to originate their own stickers, coloring books, and computer graphics and astronomy and space clip art.

So when teaching children art, writing, math or any subject, think astronomy, which has engaged children of all ages for ages.

What Is The Definition Of Astronomy?

The scientific study of all the matter -- energy found in the universe, dealing with their origin, composition, distribution and movements is called astronomy. It is one of the oldest branches of science in the world. In the old times, astronomical studies included consideration of only the sun, the moon and some of the stars and their constellations illustrated to the naked eyes. This was before the invention and development of telescope.

Telescope is one of the most crucial inventions in the field of astronomy. It was invented by Galileo Galilei, a Greek astronomer in the year, 1611. It was additional developed by many more scientists and astronomers along with Sir Isaac Newton which made the instrument more great can capable. Due to careful observations and study of all the celestial objects nearby us, some major discoveries were, and are still being made about our origin, existence and also our future.

Telescope

Broadly, astronomy is divided into two categories - optical, where it deals with direct photographs of the space and its components; and non-optical, the field dealing with things like black holes and neuron stars, the visual photographs of which are not yet possible to be taken and are understood by their radioactive activities and energy signals.

Now, there are varied branches of astronomy based on the main object it is dealing with. Planetary astronomy (planets), Solar Astronomy (sun), Stellar Astronomy (star), Galactic Astronomy (Milky Way), Extragalactic Astronomy (other galaxies in the universe) and Cosmology (structure of universe) are all parts of the broad field of Astronomy. Some of the consummate contributors to the field of astronomy contain names like Galileo, Newton, Albert Einstein, Edwin Hubble and Stephen Hawking.

Celestron Nexstar 130: The Telescope For Astronomy Beginners

I am starting my astronomy classes and part of the things needed for an astronomy class is a telescope. Actually, my trainer is not production it compulsory for us to own one, but I verily would like to have the best and first class touch when there is a need for us to study a singular planet or any other celestial object for that matter. I tried asking my friends what would be the best telescope for a starter like me. I also included in my inquiries that the telescope must also be able to give the best touch I like to have I even had to recognize reviews in the internet because I want to buy a telescope that only gives me the capability I deserve but having it for a reasonable price would be an added bonus.

Most of the answers I got included from my friends and from the internet were that I should buy a "go-to" or "none go-to scope". The go-to scopes means that the telescope is computerized and you can just enter the planet or any other celestial object into its system and it locates it for you. The "none go-to" telescopes are the other way around, meaning you have to look for the planet or celestial object manually.

Telescope

For beginners like me, I immediately searched the internet for the best beginner scope and I found out that the Celestron Nexstar 130 is perfect candidate for me. From Celestron Nexstar 130 Slt reviews I have found out that it has phenomenal features for a low price. I also find its build to be very eye-catching.
I am not disappointed when I bought my own Celestron Nexstar 130 because it has aided me in giving a very detailed report of every assignment given by my professor.

Some of the features that I enjoyed while using the Celestron Nexstar 130 Slt are:

1. It has a 2-inch eyepiece which compatible its free 9mm and 25mm eyepieces, plus it has a wide view.

2. Its 130 mm reflector has given me high capability images.

3. Its light conference power could even reach up to 30%; meaning it can procure light while viewing unlike any other design.

4. Mounting it is very easy because there is no need for tool set up; you can just fast issue the fork arm mount, optic tube and accessory tray.

5. Its tripod is durable, plus it is stainless.

6. You also get a Cd which has the manuals, what you will be finding straight through the telescope and you can also print out maps from it.

7. With a touch of a button, I can open an object inventory and convert the slew speed. It can even give me data about an object or it can simply tell me if the object I want to view can be seen by the naked eye in the sky. Its Astronomy software inside a Cd-Rom called "The Sky" has helped me learn more about the sky.

8. I can join together it to my computer using NexRemote telescope control software, and the software in the telescope is upgradeable.

9. There is an auxiliary port for accessories like Gps.

10. The best part is that, it has a Computerized Altazimuth mount which allows you verily locate colse to 4,000 celestial objects which includes galaxies and stars!

On the other hand, as much as I like its numerous pros in performance, it has cons too; Examples of which are its battery and sensitivity. The telescope's battery has a short life span, thus you have to constantly buy batteries every time you use it. Also, it is very sensitive to vibration.

The Celestron Nexstar 130 telescope is also good for family use. My family tried it once. We went camping one vacation and I was able to bring my telescope with me because it is also portable. My dad and mum were even impressed by the sharp images they were able to see and the ease of use of the telescope when we were star gazing that night.

So, for those citizen starting out in astronomy and finding for a telescope to begin their large journey, I recommend you buy the Celestron Nexstar 130 telescope.
